Frances Fay Foland's Obituary
Remembering Frances Foland
Frances was born to Fara Bommarito Hoehn and Orin Lester Hoehn on January 20, 1946. She was an only child. Frances was preceded by her father, Orin Lester Hoehn, who died the day after her high school graduation, and her mother, who passed away on June 15, 1990.
Frances married Leland Clark Foland on December 8, 1973. They had two daughters, born in 1975 and 1978. Their marriage lasted forty years until Leland's death on December 21, 2014. Frances passed away on September 23, 2025.
Frances is survived by her two daughters, son–in–law, and two grandsons. Her grandsons say that they will never forget their grandma’s kindness and love. She touched many lives and left an impression of a woman on a mission.
Frances had a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a bachelor’s degree in U.S. History and Spanish. She was certified to teach for life in the state of Missouri for grades 7 through 12 in Social Studies and for Kindergarten through 9th grade in Spanish. She loved to dance with her husband, Leland, and sing. She loved to sew and to crochet. She loved teaching and helping her grandsons learn. She loved to be a light in the darkness, inspiring others. She had started writing several books, which her youngest daughter is determined to finish.
We ask that, instead of flowers, donations be made to help Frances Foland’s family at this time.
