Oneitha "Rita" Garnett Jones' Obituary
Rita Jones was born on January 22, 1966, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Joyce Smith and the late Ardell Murphy. On April 4th, 2026, she transitioned from this life leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable presence.
Rita was a devoted mother to, Mercedes Luboya and a proud and loving grandmother to Zaire and Brooklynn Luboya. Her family was her heart, and she showed her love through care, protection, and a presence that could be felt in every room she entered.
She was known for her big personality, her sharp wit, and her ability to make people laugh even in difficult moments. Rita was strong, independent, and a deep thinker who lived life on her own terms. She was also a giver—always showing up for others with generosity and heart.
Rita had a creative spirit. She loved home decor and had a natural eye for turning a house into a warm, welcoming home. She also enjoyed cooking, where her love came through in every meal she prepared.
Her strength carried her through life’s challenges, and her faith and resilience were seen in the way she kept going, kept building, and kept loving.
Rita’s absence leaves a deep space in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, but her spirit will continue to live on through her daughter, grandchildren, and all who were blessed by her life.
She is now at peace, resting in God’s presence.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
