John Michael Schnalzer Jr.'s Obituary
***John Michael Schnalzer Jr.**Johnny, Dad, Uncle John, Pop Pop John Schnalzer, born January 25, 1956, in the Bronx, NY, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, in Arlington, TX, with family and friends at his side. He was the beloved son of John and Madeline Schnalzer. John found joy at the ball field—whether he was playing on his high school team, cheering on his daughter Alexis at her softball games, or spending an afternoon at the Ranger Stadium. He loved the simple pleasures in life: sitting outside watching airplanes pass by, savoring ice cream, admiring fresh-cut flowers or the beauty of a lightning storm, and listening to The Doors.
John was a hard worker his entire life and took great pride in caring for his girls. He was a devoted father and a proud grandfather to three granddaughters whom he adored. Every visit to his house ended the same way—with smiles, hugs, and a bag full of cookies and candy for the ride home. Although he was notoriously frugal with himself, he was graciously generous with others. He was the kind of man who always made sure his daughters got home safely, who never missed liking one of his nieces’ Facebook photos, and who called his mother every Sunday to check in. John is survived by his daughters, Danielle and Alexis; sons-in-law, Sam and Devon; granddaughters, Zora, Leona, and Maxine; mother, Madeline; brothers, Tom, Jimmy, and Paul; his dear friend, Deborrah; cousin, Kenny; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends—all of whom cherished him deeply. He is preceded in death by his father, John Schnalzer Sr.
