Frank Wilson Thompson Jr.'s Obituary
Frank Wilson Thompson Jr., age 73, of Arlington, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 4, 2025. He was born on May 10, 1952, in Baltimore City to Doris Ethel Sasscer and Frank Wilson Thompson.
Frank proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for four years, achieving the rank of Sergeant and earning the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Expert Marksman Badges in both pistol and rifle. Following his military service, he built a long and successful career in mechanical engineering, ultimately serving as a Project Manager with Americhem. In this role, he oversaw multiple international projects and contributed more than twenty years of dedicated service.
Frank will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, deep loyalty, and infectious laugh; for his passion for fishing, woodworking, and metal work; and for the steadfast love and support he gave to his family throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Deng; his daughters, Tammi Bergh (Spouse: Richard Bergh), Christine Shaqfeh (Spouse: Daniel Shaqfeh), and Grace Ye; and his granddaughters, Kayla Shaqfeh and Danica Bergh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Frank.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Mansfield Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at 8:00 a.m. and the service at 8:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Frank’s life and legacy.
