In Loving Memory of Aunt Deborah,
As we gather to celebrate and honor the life of my wonderful Aunt Deborah. To the world, she was a bright light, a generous soul. But to me, she held a completely unique place in my heart.I was the one who made her an auntie first. Before I came into the world, she was a daughter and a sister. When I was born, she stepped into a new title, and she wore it like a badge of honor every single day. Being her first niece/nephew meant I got to experience the very first, purest chapters of her auntie love. She showered me with affection, guided me with patience, and loved me fiercely from the moment she first held me.Deborah brought so much warmth into our lives. She knew how to make people feel seen, heard, and deeply valued. I loved when we had family gatherings, she would always say that she can always count on her Deedee to help her in the kitchen. Her laughter could fill a room, and her advice was always wrapped in genuine kindness. The love she gave wasn't just spoken; it was felt in every hug, every shared smile, and every milestone she cheered for. While my heart aches because she is no longer with us, I am endlessly grateful for the bond we shared. I will forever carry the pride of being her first, and I will miss her beautiful spirit every day.
Rest in peace, Aunt Deborah. You are loved beyond words.
Your niece Deedee!
After church on Sundays, Deborah and I would always cook for the family. The favorite dish we cook together was enchiladas.
