I met Crystal in a wine club in 2021. Over the years, we got together monthly to celebrate life. Even after she relocated to Texas, she would still make her way back to the DMV to celebrate with us. This picture was taken the last time I saw her in December 2025 and sums up our times. Crystal was always smiling and laughing - exactly how I will remember her. Prayers of comfort to all on the loss of this beautiful woman.🙌🏾🕊🥰
I first met Crystal our sophomore year at Omaha North High School where she introduced me to 4 additional awesome ladies (Trisha, Charlene, Sharon, and Brenda). We bonded and formed a sisterhood and that sisterhood has withstood the test of times for over 42 years. There were not many events you would see us apart during our teens, except when Crystal had to be home for curfew. I am grateful for Crystal initially embracing and loving me inspite of.
There are no words that could ever explain how her physical presence will be missed. Past memories will be shared (except those we promised not to); and new memories will be created with Crystal’s spirit right by our side because we know she has now joined the Angels that watch over us. She is our sister for life!
When I joined the CG Finance Center, Crystal was assigned to train me. What started as a professional connection quickly became something much deeper. She went from being my coworker to becoming my best friend — my bestie.
Crystal had a love for life and adventure. My very first trip was with her to Jamaica, followed by a cruise we’ll never forget. We didn’t just travel — we made memories that will stay with me forever. From cake baking classes to earning our nail technician and notary licenses, we were always learning, growing, and laughing together. And we never missed a good bingo night.
She was more than a friend. She was my confidant, my safe place, my person. The one I called first. The one who understood without explanation.
My heart aches in her absence, but I am so grateful for the time we shared. Her love, her laughter, and her beautiful spirit will forever live in my heart.

You will always be my one and only big sister. After mommy passed you stepped in and stepped up always being there protecting Dottie and I. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I will do anything for you and your boys. I love you and I’m mad you left me to handle all these “simple” people. We are absolutely heartbroken over the loss of Crystal. There are no words that feel big enough to hold the weight of this grief. Crystal wasn’t just a friend to our family — she was love, light, laughter, and strength wrapped into one beautiful soul. She had a way of making everyone around her feel seen, welcomed, and cared for.
Our family will forever cherish the memories we shared with her — the conversations, the smiles, the moments that now mean even more. The world feels a little quieter without her in it, and our hearts will miss her more than words can express.

Dear Brooks Family,
Crystal was my friend. Met her in Baltimore MD. Visited everyplace she lived here. She loved those snow crabs and crab pretzels. I took her to a lot of parties. She didn't dance much but she enjoyed herself. I'm glad she got to travel and live life. Eternal Peace my Friend. GOD GOT YOUR BACK NOW!!! My prayers and condolences go out to the Brooks Family.
