Bruce Albert Clay's Obituary
Bruce Albert Clay entered this earthly life March 30, 1941, to parents James Bruce Clay and Mary Ann (Hines) Clay, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was the first child of triplets. The middle infant, Benny Alvin, did not survive the hospital stay.
Bruce loved the Lord and professed his faith in God at an early age by actively participating in the youth departments at Tabernacle Baptist Church, and Church of the Living God in Oklahoma City. He later joined Greater Cleaves Memorial CME Church where he was an ordained deacon. Upon relocating to Texas, he enhanced his Christian journey by joining Mount Olive Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. He continued his spiritual commitment as a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Mansfield, Texas. Bruce was also a member of The King David Lodge, Temple #50 of Oklahoma City and was a Mason, Golden Circle, and then a Shriner.
Bruce's formal education was acquired through the Oklahoma City Public Schools. He attended Page and Edwards Elementary; F. D. Moon Junior High; graduating from Douglass Senior High Class of 1959. Bruce completed the Dale Carnegie for effective speaking and Human Relations courses. Then attended EOC College in Edmond Oklahoma. His career pursuits began in Oklahoma City as a manager at TG&Y. He became interested in Real Estate and received his license. Bruce became a member of the Oklahoma Association of Realtors.
Bruce married Dorie, the love of his life, on October 11, 1981. They later relocated to Arlington, Texas, were he secured employment with American Airlines until his retirement. They later moved to Mansfield, Texas where they resided until his final days.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and maternal grandparents Willie & Johnnie (May) Hines of Stroud, Oklahoma. Also, his twin brother Norvel C. Clay. Bruce leaves behind his most precious treasures, his devoted wife, Dorie J. Clay of Mansfield, Texas; His son Marcus Clay (daughter in love Starla); his daughters, Lora Clay, Cynthia French (Dennis) of Oklahoma City and Jamie Sanders (Austin) Midlothian, Texas and a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bruce is also survived by two sisters, Geraldine (Walls) Parish, Fort Worth, Texas & Ruth (Walls) Thomas, Oklahoma City Oklahoma. Others left to cherish these precious memories are the countless number of extended family members, neighbors, and friends he touched in his own special way.
